Newsletter Autumn Term 2022

Welcome

Welcome back to all our returners and a huge welcome to all those families joining us this academic year. The children have had a great start and are already exploring a wide range of activities and making new relationships with staff and each other. There’s lots to cover in this newsletter so please take the time to read it through.

Staff Updates

I would like to introduce myself, I have met a few of you at the door already.

My name is Sallie and I am lucky enough to have taken over as

Manager of this fantastic nursery. You may recognise me as I have taught in

local schools for the past 25 years. I am very approachable and look forward to meeting you over the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, we are very sad to say farewell (for now we hope!) to Sheryl our lovely Business and Funding Manager who has accepted a full-time position in a school. We wish her all the best for the future.

We are currently recruiting for a replacement for Sheryl but in the meantime Elizabeth will be in the office covering so please speak to her regarding any queries or worries.

Tapestry

Please use this as a way of ‘chatting’ with your child’s key person.  Staff check their messages regularly and will be able to respond quickly to any questions or worries.  Please also add your comments and thoughts to the observations as it’s a great way to get to know you and your child.  The staff work very hard at keeping you updated with pictures so please respond if you can and add pictures from home.  In the near future we will also organise some meetings with your key person.

Lunches

Please if possible, send packed lunches in a hard plastic box which is easy to wipe clean. Please also remember not to pack any eggs or nuts (including chocolate hazelnut spread, peanut butter etc.) as we have children with allergies. Please also cut grapes, olives and sausages and cherry tomatoes lengthways due to possible choking. Finally, please clearly name their lunch box.

Book bags

Please bring your child’s-coloured book bag each day so they can bring home their works of art and please check them for important letters from us.

Uniform

If you would like All Saints uniform, please order direct from the website www.myclothing.com and search for the nursery name. Can jumpers also be clearly named please.

Early Starts

Please remember that we do offer an Early Start (from 08.30 to 09.00) charged at £5 if that helps anyone. You can book a regular slot or use this service as you need it.

Please can everyone check that you have filled in all the necessary permissions and child details (especially collection passwords and health details) on the Parent admin system. Thank you. You will get reminders from the system as well.

PTFA

We have an active Parent, Teacher and Friend Association who organise exciting events throughout the year. If you can help in anyway, we are always looking for new members. Please speak to a member of staff if you are interested.

Trustees

If you would like to be involved with the nursery there are also vacancies on the board of trustees. Trustees need to be current parents and meetings take place about three times a year. Please either speak to the office or send an email if you would like to join us!
