Newsletter Summer 1 Term 2023

Welcome to Summer 1

We hope that you all had a great Easter break. Can you believe we are starting the Summer term already?! We are looking forward to the sunshine and warmer weather. There are some exciting topics this term including Kings and Queens celebrating the Kings Coronation.

Spring Fest

We are very excited about our upcoming fundraising event Spring Fest! This will take place Saturday 29th April between 10am and 12.00 at the nursery. We will have music, face painting craft and activities for you to take part in.

Staff Update

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts and gifts for Kim. Her operation went well, she will now be undergoing treatment and will be absent for the rest of this term. Claire will be going on maternity leave on 4th May and Laura will be taking maternity leave later in Summer 2. Welcome to Tracey and Gill who have joined the team to cover their absences.

Tapestry

We hope that you enjoy seeing what the children have been up to on Tapestry. If you could please add to the journal by adding comments or liking the posts so that we know that you have seen them.

Own Toys

Just a reminder that children can bring in topic related things to show however we do not allow own toys as these may get broken or lost.

Pick Up

If you need an early pick up due to other schools finishing times, please could you come no later than 3pm otherwise please wait until normal pick up time at 3.30pm due to group times taking place in nursery.

Summer Weather

Now the warmer weather is upon us, please ensure that all items of clothing are named so jumpers and cardigans don’t go astray. Please could children have suncream applied at home before coming to nursery. We can top this up throughout the day with our own supply of suncream however if your child has allergies, please can you provide your own. For safety reasons please can shoulders be covered and ensure children are wearing practical clothing as summer dresses may get caught up in play equipment. We ask that children all have a named sun hat in nursery which they can leave in their tray if not needed.

Fund raising and PTFA news

Due to previous fundraising events, we will be replacing the double tower play equipment in the garden over the summer! Plans have been drawn up for a new double tower with a climbing wall but don’t worry the fire fighter pole and a wobbly bridge have been included too. Thank you so much for all your donations and support. Due to being a charity we would be unable to resource the nursery without your help. We have an active Parent, Teacher and Friend Association who organise exciting events throughout the year. If you can help in anyway, we are always looking for new members. Please speak to a member of staff if you are interested.

Trustees/CIO

The Nursery continues its application to change its legal status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). However, we are still a charity nursery who fundraises for equipment and resources.

Planning

We have attached to this newsletter the planning for the Summer Term for your reference, if your child does anything relating to the topic at home, they are more than welcome to bring it in to share with us or you could upload pictures onto Tapestry.

Thank you for your continued support.
